Adri asked if I'd post a children's book that I love. I do little song and dance programs at local nursing and assisted living homes and my fall program is "The Color of Music". I use the delightful text from this beautiful book to tie my program of colorful songs together.
....white is milk spilled in the alley....hailstones and halibut bones...and some people's telephones!...
The use of alliteration, word picture painting, and creativity in this text works perfectly helping children identify with color as well as old folks remember the feelings evoked by color in their lives. Besides that, the illustrations in the book are beautiful too. I love the sound of words. They make such fun rhythms and create such moods. You will love sharing this book with your kids or grandkids too!
